Sick People

Okay, what the hell is wrong with people?

One of you is going to have to explain this to me.

Why would anyone buy an account?

Why?

People will actually pay extra money for a game that someone else has already played for them.

EXTRA.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

Would you go to a restaurant and order a meal that someone else had already chewed?

Moron>> This is great.
Moron>> It's already chewed and even partially digested.
Moron>> This saves me lots of trouble.

Why in the name of hell would you want a game that was already half done?

You can just run right down to the store and buy the game NEW and play the whole thing yourself.

Doesn't that sound like more fun?

Right now, there's an account for sale somewhere. I'm not going to tell you where because honestly, I don't want to give this retard more traffic.

The account has eight jobs already at level 75.

And seven more jobs above level 66.

With all the quests and missions done.

Sounds good, right?

Now, this is the part I need explained.

What in the hell would you do with this account?!

Even supposing you didn't get completely screwed over with a fake username or password, you've got nothing left to do.

Moron>> Wow, this is great.
Moron>> I've had the game for six minutes and I'm done.
Moron>> ...
Moron>> I wonder what's on TV.

What is the point of playing a game with the majority of leveling and all of the quests and missions done?

Leveling, quests, and missions...

THAT'S THE ENTIRE FREAKING GAME!

You're paying hundreds of dollars (and yes, that's the actual price) to buy a game you can't even play.

Congratulations! You're retarded!

And you know the best part? The moron posted links to the sale on all the major forums.

So, now you're buying an account that everyone knows was bought and you'll be hated before you even log in.

Oh, and let's not forget the army of GMs waiting to ban you when you do log in.

I hope it's worth the money.

Here's the entire experience this moron will have once they buy the account.

Moron>> Yay! I won!
Moron>> Boo! My bank account is empty!
Moron>> Yay! The password worked!
Moron>> Boo! I don't know how to play!
Player>> Go away! You're an idiot!
[GM]Dave>> Do you like dragons?
Moron>> Oh noez! I got eated!
Moron>> And now I'm banned!
Moron>> I might as well go back to WoW!

Fun, huh?

I just saved you hundreds of dollars and endless frustration.

If you have that much money to waste, the donate button is on the right near the top of the page.

I was just thinking about that one.. if you've caught any gil buyers or account buyers. Those must make for interesting stories.

"I didnt know I was doing something wrong! You can't ban me! I'm innocent!" HaHaHahahaha!

You go, Dave!

Sad thing is... it happens in all games...

I just wish some of these sites that allow people to advertise this sort of things or the ad companies *cough*google*cough* actually took some responsibility and helped to prevent this kind of retardedness.

Oh -- thought we were playing the non-sequitur game.

I think [GM]Dave should take down as many names as he can from those sites, and save them for a rainy day. When Susan goes hormonally aggro, he can just pull out names & have a little banning party. ^^

in FFXI dont you raid or any PvP?
I did want to try the game but there was no trial at one stage. Like WOW people buy accounts so they can skip the levelling crap and go straight to raiding and pvp and such.

If its ebay you can have his listing removed if you report it.

Also why not just ban the guy violating the EULA/TOS thats selling his account.

At one point in Asherons Call Pyreal Rat sold his account for $5000.00. I kid you not.

He made a killing

Some moron got a powerful character who really had nothing else to do (zero high leve content at that point)

At 4:33 PM, Blogger Dez Posener said...

Quests in FFXI are nothing like quests in WoW. The ones in this game are actually fun, you see, not simply a tool for grinding. Same goes for the missions.

At 5:07 PM, Blogger fadedrights said...

I agree with Shayde, [GM]Dave, you should definitely keep track, wait until the account has been sold. And then ban the new player!

At 6:22 PM, Blogger Zanbatou-sama said...

Well, I suppose the character would be useful to do high-level BCNMs to get a low level character plenty of money and maybe a black chocobo. I don't have that kind of time.

At 6:33 PM, Blogger Oshie said...

Which one is the moron? The guy who sold the acount for hundreds of dollars, and bought the game again to play some more? Or the idiot who will never really get to play, will not know how to party, will not know how to do anything, and for that matter can't do anything because its been done?

The point? Ban the new player ASAP. It will be one less idiot I have to party with.

[me] You bought that account right?
[brd] Yes
[me] The white mage too?

I've been saying this about bought accounts for years. I've never understood the logic behind buying a game that's already been beaten. Yeah, you've got all jobs at 75 and uber gear for every job, but you also have no gil because the guy who used to own the account sold all the gil seperately to make more money and you have no idea how to MAKE gil. Then you start bothering people for tips on making it, or begging for loans, and after a week you're the high-level idiot that always has to beg for his stuff. Congratulations, you spent $500 to feel even stupider online. The only good thing the rest of us get out of people like that is yet another moron ot laugh at and make fun of.

That's just sad to actually spend a few hundred bucks on a character that's already beaten.

A high level char in that game is useful as hell... Not worth that much but useful. Apparently, you never been to the Dark Isle of d00m.

Hello, I love reading your blog and thought I could help you in your quest to ban all retards from Final Fantasy XI. I used to have a friend that turned into a total bitch and I finally decided to rat her ugly ass out. She uses a minimizer and I have seen that is aginst the ToS. Her name is Lizziemanan of Gilgamesh.

Hello. I have been a fan of your blog for quite some time and decided to help you on your retard banning adventure. Lizziemanan is a bitch on Gilgamesh that uses a minimizer and I have read that's aginst the ToS. I no longer play but I still care for the smart players and my old friends and just want to make the game funner for them.

The best part is, that account has a Maat cap, one of very few on the server. (He claimed two, but I think it's three.) So there won't be any question at all, once you see his model in that hat!

"I might as well go back to World of Warcraft." XD

I'm sure you already know why people do this, Dave, but for the sake of others (and I feel like it), let me part of my wisdom.

You see, sadly, MMOs aren't really about immersion.

The giant world the developers spent ages creating? Nothing.

The pretty armour they spent so long making? Zip.

All that time and effort? Zilch.

You see, there is only one reason the majority play MMOs for. The roleplaying, the immersion, the Guilds, the friendly community (scoff), or the 'incredible gameplay' (also scoff).

It's only for one thing, and that thing, is the fact that 'under the bonnet', so to speak, they have about, oh, two inches.

You see, I've come to realize that the only reason the majority play MMOs is to gank, show off their gear and level, and just generally try to be better than everyone else. Unlike a game where you might get, say, recognition with a scoreboard or the fact that the game requires skill, they get their recognition by people who rage quit and yell at them then get banned for justifiably MPKing them, or getting Guilds onto them in the case of PvP games.

I love MMOs for immersion, but I can still admit that they're basically a giant banner saying, 'This game requires no skill, lots of time and money, and no honour! No penis or talent? Apply here for your free*** Virtual Penis!'

***lolz

Yeah, people still suck.

What difference does it make what a person decides to spend his money on?

Correct me if I am wrong but purchasing an account doesn't violate a the TOS?

It would be no different than me GIVING my account to someone else as long as they pay the monthly fee.

More than likely if someone pays for a complete account they either have money to burn or know what they are doing.

The poing is, if an inexperienced player purchases a completed account and attempts to aggro a party would be no different than an inexperienced member who started from the beginning and the party gets the same results.

Personally I wouldn't buy a completed account, I wouldn't even purchase virtual anything for real money.

But to each his own if they want to spend their hard earned money for a game just as long as they dont effect the economy is fine with me.

Here is an account being sold on my server. The player is leaving because she is a huge bitch who has finally gotten to the point where no one wants anything to do to her anymore. I can't wait til the person who buys it logs in and can't get a party...find a linkshell, etc. It'll be hilarious.

At 8:45 AM, Blogger Franck Knight said...

Buying another's account isn't always with this result. Like I could buy a level 75 RDM to play on my second computer as a sort of PLer or crafting mule.

But that supposes an already mininal knowledge of the game, not someone that is booted up into a level 75 without knowing anything.

Even worse, RMT sites now offer to level up your character for you, for a price. Imagine, not having to do anything and one day you'll get an email saying 'your character is now level 75'. Neat huh, you just paid someone else to play for you!

I can see why people would do something like this, but i also understand why idiots don't often procreate with smarter members of society and that inbreeding will make you retarded.

You can't buy brain cells or the knowledge that they contain. That's the key thing that is missing in such a purchase, and, coincidentally, it the lack thereof that I am proud to say that people like GM Dave are born to destroy.

If you get a good story based on character buying, definately post it. They're worse than stupid people. They're stupid people in the position of a pontentially competent person.

At 12:36 PM, Blogger Music-chan said...

Buying and selling accounts is in all games, everywhere. And apparently it's a REALLY good way to make money if you don't want to play the game anymore. I don't really understand it. I also don't understand paying a "service" to level you up either. I mean...what's the point?

At the end of the day, it comes down to people wanting the prestiege but not having to do the work. Isn't that the way life always is?

At 1:35 PM, Blogger Mint said...

There will always be people with more money than sense. Hardly surprising.

At 1:52 PM, Blogger Rai said...

YEAH LOL WOW IS SO STUPID WHO WOULD PAY MONEY FOR THAT :):)

We've had a couple of people in our guild suddenly disappear and then reappear as another person who bought the account. It's disorienting, to say the least.

At 4:08 PM, Blogger Rogahar said...

I gotta say, whilst buying accounts strikes me as dumb-as-shit and pointless, I find self-PLing even worse. I mean c'mon - you already have a character at level 75 in 3/4/more jobs. Why the crap do you need to now waste time levelling -another- character to that point, using your uber-Elvaan or whatever? Not only will you not be paying full attention to both characters, unless you're -seriously- skilled or have two sh*t-fast computers and a damn good net connection, but c'mon. You're level 75. Whatever deficiencies your character's race may have, you can farm up items, or gil to buy them, which make up for and improve upon those failings with relative ease.
Anyway yeah, my two cents. IMO I'd rather have a level 15 WHM with no sub, than a level 16 WHM with a 75 Taru WHM PL who was "playing" both characters.

I now we haven't either, but it's believable

I'll explain it to you, you see the concentration of cocaine on high deomination currency has got to the point where people with too much money become delusional and retarded. This can be easily averted by avoiding banknotes and sticking to keycards.

Speaking of account buyers, I was on my way to Norg to start the Leviathan Prime quest when, while running through SSG, a 75 mnk in full relic AF/destroyers/all-around good gear starts shoutting...

MNK >> HOW DO I GET TO NORG?
me >> You're 75 and don't know how to get to Norg?
MNK >> I'M NEW! {HELP ME OUT!}
me >> How are you new? You already have a 75 MNK?
MNK >> {Um...} THIS IS MY FRIEND'S ACCOUNT!"
me >> Yeah, right. Find Norg yourself.

I zone into Norg and talk to the NPC thinking that I've gotten rid of him, when out of nowhere I hear the shouts of stupidity once again.

MNK >> WHERE IS EVERYONE?!
MNK >> WHERE'S THE AUCTION HOUSE!
MNK >> WHERE'S THE MOG HOUSE!
MNK >> HOW DO I GET A MAP?
MNK >> HOW DO I GET BACK TO JEUNO?

Needless to say I left Norg as fast as possible.

Some days I wish I could sic Jormy on people like [GM]Dave does....
