This Made Me Laugh

I have a message for all the hackers/gilbuyers/gilsellers that file complaints or create pathetic online petitions.

I think this picture quite aptly sums up how I feel about the morons who whine AFTER they get banned.

Maybe you should have thought about that BEFORE you cheated.

Note: I wish I could take credit for this picture, but sadly my "shopping" skills are not what they should be.

"I was banned for using a windower, but I wasn't a cheater."

Dude, you seriously came to the wrong blog to complain/defend yourself. You are lucky you weren't fed to a dragon, beaten by players, or humiliated before you were banned.

My question to you is "Your Windower. . .it's an external program which interfaces with FFXI, right?" If the answer to this is yes, you deserved your ban anyways. Learn to play just like everyone else does.

Hey, WindexHamster (read: idiot)

Should SE change the TOS to allow using a windower? No. Should SE implement a way of being able to minimize the game without logging out to POL? Yes.

Maybe they look at it this way. The players should be able to figure out the game on their own, not going to various sites to get information that other people have gathered.

That's not how I feel about it, but that might be what SE is thinking. I don't personally use a windower because I have 2 computers networked, and I look up info on one and use the other to play. But being able to play in a window would allow me to not get kicked out of the game by my anti-virus software, or by my friends who don't see my away messages on any of the messenger programs.

Just my two cents...

"It's a wart hog!"

I'd have to agree w/ nazzy. But you did hurt my feelings when you called me a pedophile. I just dont think i can go on w/ life. I may use windower myself, and that would have been guilt enough. But now that someone anonymous has insulted me, i'll just go slit my wrists and take a bath.

I should have realized that the first time you said, Windowing isn't cheating, and nothing you can say about it will ever make it so. What was i thinking to doubt your absolute knowledge, oh god of all things w/ ToS. Know what, if i were you, i'd expand my knowledge of companies policies that you did not found and use your skills to your advantage. Say, if you have a cell phone contract, you should just call them up and say, "Breaking my contract with you won't cost me any early termination fees, and nothing you can say about it will ever make it so." Of course, how could they back down from your omniscient logic.

Really, has anyone saying "Windowers aren't cheating" even read the ToS? It says no third party programs, like no FRAPS, no windowers, no macro programs, NOTHING.

I mea God, can you be more whiney?

Man, more name calling and obscenities .... i just can't win against you, Windex.

SE hosted a Fan Video contest at the Festival.

The Video competition REQUIRED the use of FRAPS or some other 3rd party means of video capture for PC users.

Most videos used it. SE said nothing.

Irony? Nope.

Any intelligent GM should tell you (as one has told me) that FRAPS is an exception to the rule, as it does not allow the player to window or gain an advantage over other players in any way. As a matter of fact, it actually causes a slight disadvantage (lag) for less top-of-the-line machines.

In other news, SE needs to either suck up their fears of making hacking easier through a minimize function (hackers got it covered, so they may as well make it available -- newblets who couldn't figure out how to window on their own before aren't exactly SE's worst nightmare) or they need to remove the "don't forget it's a beautiful life" message from the #$@!-ing start screen. Four hours on seek and my options are: do I want to stare at the wall, my feet, or just log out?

It's no #@!%#ing wonder people cheat.

How exactly does being able to minimize the window or alt+tab out give someone an unfair advantage? Couldn't the same thing be said for the person that plays on the PS2 and uses their computer to dig up information?

As for the comment about designing the game so that it doesn't use as many system resources for the less than top of the line computers; Why not have the ability to be able to run in full screen or windowed mode. Give the players a choice in the matter?
