Jormungand's Day Off

I zoned into Mordion Gaol a few weeks ago and noticed something was amiss.

Jormungand wasn't running around or taunting the prisoners (he likes to play with his food).

Immediately, I became concerned. Having my own personal Jormy is amazing, but I don't want the poor fella getting sick.

Who would eat all of the idiots?

So I looked around and finally found him sulking in the corner. He seemed tired and didn't even look up when I walked by.

Maybe it was something stupid he ate, but he just didn't seem like himself.

Worst of all was the bored look in his eye. The last thing you want is an unhappy dragon.

I decided that he was probably sick of being cooped up in this dungeon. The only thing this place is fit for is retards.

Perhaps it was time for Jormy to take a vacation.

I told him I'd call Tiamat and have him sub in for a few days, and that Jormy had to go get some sun and relax a bit.

You know, have a good time.

I could tell the idea made him happy because of the smile on his face when he left.

Maybe he'll make some new friends.

He's a good dragon.

That's Deliverance Online, a private Ragnarok Online server run by a GM who follows you religiously... or at least tries to without losing playerbase.

We loved having Jormungand around for the day. Made our jobs a lot easier.

I wasn't always sure what Mordion Gaol was. But now I know. But since the only way to get there is to commit a crime, or commit a crime of stupidty, A good surprise for a high donater would be a visit there. In which you leave them there. As a Joke. =D

Yes, Tiamat is a girl...
{Sources: Wikipedia, multiple searches}

"Tiamat has appeared in many Final Fantasy games, usually taking the shape of a multi-headed dragon. In The Final Fantasy Legend, Tiamat is the most powerful monster in the 'dragon' category and available as a playable character; a monster in your party may transform into Tiamat by eating the meat from certain boss characters. In Final Fantasy Tactics, Tiamat is a powerful Monster class that can be tamed by the player. Every other incarnation of Tiamat has been a major boss." [Personal note: Tiamat was one of the four fiends in Final Fantasy 1, namely, the fiend of Wind. She made a second appearance as the fiend of wind in FFIX]

"As well in Final Fantasy VIII, Tiamat is a powerfull evil dragon under the control of the final boss Ultimecia"

"Her name seems ultimately to have been a Sumerian one as in that language Ti = Life, and Ama = Mother, suggesting her original name may have been 'the mother of all life'"

"The Gods gathered in terror, but Anu, first extracting a promise that he would be revered as 'king of the Gods', overcame her, armed with the arrows of the winds, a net, a club, and an invincible spear." [Which makes me wonder... is Tiamat in FFXI weak against these?]

"Slicing Tiamat in half, he made from her ribs the vault of heaven and earth. Her weeping eyes became the source of the Tigris and the Euphrates. With the approval of the elder gods, he took from Kingu the Tablets of Destiny, installing himself as the head of the Babylonian pantheon. Kingu was captured and was later slain with his red blood mixed with the red clay of the Earth to make the body of humankind, created to act as the servant of the younger Igigi Gods."

LOL, anyone notice on of the characters is that retarded fish botter?

Script run ./fish lmfao

At 5:15 PM, Blogger Sutaru said...

Well, alerith, I think the joke is on you this time. As Seraphina said, that is a screenshot from Deliverance Online, a private Ragnarok Online server and RO doesn't have a fishing function. In other words, he typed in on purpose to be funny and whoever was disguised as Jormundand typed his script for ... an effect of realism? Then he used the @me command to type out the section that said "Jormungand strikes player for 239038 damage. Player dies" himself. Damage delt is not announced in chat in RO.

Well, this might be a tad blaphemous and nobody will buy it, but I'm the Jormy from that shot. Still wondering how that screenshot came upon GM Dave... and still honored to have the server posted on BO. Cheers!

I'm ever so jealous of you, Jinh. Lucky bastard. All the cool stuff happens when I'm asleep or gone.

And [GM]Dave, you almost make me want to buy FFXI in hopes of being banned by you. Almost.
