Yeah... I Noticed...
A couple of people have e-mailed me about the fan pack. It's been well over a month since the last one and some people are getting antsy.I noticed that.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in the fan packs lately. Maybe it's the time of year and money's tight or maybe it's just the economy and whatnot, but interest has definitely dropped off.
Don't get me wrong. I totally get that. Money is super tight here, too.
And Susan just INSISTS on feeding our daughter EVERY DAY. What the hell is that all about?
The thing is that the fan pack is three or four days of solid writing. I usually don't get to sleep until two or three in the morning on fan pack nights.
Yeah, I'm up that late anyway most days, but that's different. That's hunting NMs or something. I usually end up with a some awesome piece of gear or something.
Or a hat.
Who doesn't like a new hat?
I'm going to keep doing the fan packs because... Well, because I like doing them. It's interesting to try and create something a little different than the average blog post.
Plus, I enjoy forcing my opinions about movies and games on you.
You will read them and you will adhere to them, damn you.
But I will probably be adjusting the schedule a bit. If it's a money thing and you can't afford to donate every four weeks, then I can adjust the schedule to make it easier on you.
Plus, I can get more sleep.
Or more hats.

Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow once I finalize plans for a theme week. Last month's top donator has thrown a few good ideas my way, but we haven't narrowed it down yet.
Apparently, "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard" just isn't considered constructive criticism.

You realize you just pulled the ol "Supply and Demand" thing on us right where cut supply because demand isn't what you'd like it to be? Might wanna get started on that mithra porn since that seems to be what the people want before you turn into a darker kind of evil like the oil companies
I've never donated mostly because, well... I started reading your blogs when I was about 16 and I never had money. Still don't have money. Probably will never have money. I think I should just find some crazy cat lady and ask to live in her basement. XD
It's a money thing, I don't have any. You cater to the poor I guess? On the other hand, I plan on donating next month because it's Christmas and I enjoy your blog year round, that deserves something back, even if it's just a small token.

I (try to) donate every month first and foremost to support the blog. I happen to find you entertaining, and the suggested amount seems very reasonable, especially with the offered bonus. If I don't donate, it's because I forgot :P
That being said, I wouldn't be here were it not for FFXI. I enjoy all your segments, but the FFXI stories are at the top of my list. Just sayin. But that's just me.

I'd really like to find a Smithy story in the fan pack if I will donate.
It's more an issue of me forgeting the day..and money. Moniter broke, had to buy a new tablet, then this thing called "food"...oh. and Thanksgiving. Just November sucks in general.
I've donated before, and did enjoy the fan packs.
For me, it isn't the money. Honestly, its the amount of great things on the internet vs. my time to peruse them. I can't make it through all the free blogs and comics, let alone paid ones.
I will say that you have created a desire in many of us for more Smitty and Pathfinder. I would probably be much more inclined to buy fan packs if they contained more of them.
I've been following your blogs for a while, love this one and Goblin Smithy too. Back when I had an extra $5 or $10 a month, I'd send it to you cause the fan packs always made me laugh, but I've been looking for work since Oct 08... even had to suspend my ffxi
